I got a free Forsaken Warband at Adepticon for something I attended and added St John and Elijah. My game experience so far is the one demo I had there. Where do I go next?
Also, what books should I be getting for this? I prefer paper over e-format. I'm looking for both fluff and rules. Thanks!

Well the new Forsaken book is coming out (pre-release happened at Gen Con, wide release should be September or so) that will contain the new stat cards for the Forsaken and fluff for the units. For rules the only book you need is Core Rules 2013. For Fluff: Apocalypse Forcelists: Covers The Forsaken, Saint Mark, Saint Mary, Saint Luke, Saint John, The Followers of the Heretic, The Dragyri, The Ice Caste, The Air Caste, The Brood, The Outcasts, The Skarrd, The Blood Cult, and the Toxic Cult. Devastation: Covers the CORE and the Cult of Metamorphosis Both of those books are outdated rules wise but the fluff should still be valid (haven't gotten the new Forsaken book to read the fluff and see if anything differes) Conflagration: Covers the Fire Caste, The Slavers of Chain Barrows, the Kukulkani and some incidental units for all the factions Fanaticism: Introduced more new units for the Forsaken and the Prevailers sub-faction Outcasts: Introduced the Salt Flat Nomads and covers the fluff of the generic Outcasts and the Slavers; the storyline focusing mainly on the Slavers and Nomads. Forsaken: Introduces the forces of Saint Isaac and Saint Joan and should cover the fluff of all the other Forsaken as well while continuing the main story.

At This Point, if a store is going to start carrying the line, which of these books should they really have ontheir shelves? Obviously the Core Rules, Outcasts, and Foresaken when it releases; but beyond that what should be on their shelf waiting for a customer? Are the units from Fanaticism all redone in Foresaken? Maybe Devastation, Conflagration, and Apocalypse Forcelists for the other factions? I just don't want a store to get a bad taste because they order something in and then have someone say well that info is outdated already while at the same time I want to make sure that if they are trying to get a player base they have what they need.

Well when Games and Stuff got their line they only got like 1-3 of all the books prior to Fanaticism (this was right before Outcasts was released). Conflagration and Fanaticism while having info reprinted elsewhere do also start a lot of the threads that have been moving forward. The thing is none of the books are truly needed beyond Core Rules. Every bit of actual game information is released with the PDFs. So from a store perspective I guess they'd need to know how much their player base cares about the story because that is where the books actually serve a purpose.

So should I bother with Fanaticism or just wait on the new Forsaken book? Does the new one cover the fluff from the old one as well?

The most fluff it would cover is the description of the units fluff but not the actual story fluff. So you'd have the fluff on Grand Templar Marcus for example but most likely not the story of the Prevailer army coming about. If it's rules in a physical book you want then definitely wait, if you care about story it'd be a good one to pick up.

While I don't have the Fanaticism book (yet!), I do have the new Forsaken one. The storyline in it is all new and continues on from what was built in the other books as I understand it. It also has unit specific fluff for all the generic Forsaken units, and the for the Saints and their specific units (including Saint Johann). It does not have any unit specific fluff for the Prevailers, which I can assume is in Fanaticism. It also has the new faction document for all the Forsaken and all the cards in the back (which will all be online, much of it already is). So based on my admittedly limited knowledge, I would say that the Forsaken book is indeed separate and distinct from Fanaticism, which is mainly a book about the Prevailers. I don't think there is much (or any?) overlap between the two (depending on the unit specific fluff of generic Forsaken units). I guess someone with Fanaticism could answer that question for sure.
Hope that helps!

None of the generic Forsaken were in Fanaticism, all of their fluff was in Apocalypse Forcelists. Bit surprised they didn't reprint the Prevailers since they literally reprinted the Slavers stuff in Outcasts.
